By accessing or using Roots ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use the Service.
2. Description of Service
Roots is a home maintenance management platform that helps homeowners track maintenance tasks extracted from inspection reports using AI technology. The Service is provided "as is" and we make no guarantees about the accuracy of AI-extracted information.
3. User Accounts
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account and for all activities that occur under your account. You must provide accurate and complete information when creating an account.
4. User Content
You retain ownership of any content you upload to the Service, including inspection reports and documents. By uploading content, you grant us a license to process, store, and analyze it to provide the Service.
5. AI-Generated Content
The Service uses artificial intelligence to extract and analyze information from documents. AI-generated content is provided for informational purposes only and should not be considered professional advice. Always consult qualified professionals for home maintenance decisions.
6. Subscription and Billing
Paid web features may be billed on a subscription basis through Stripe. You may cancel your subscription through the available billing-management flow or by contacting support. Refunds are handled in accordance with the applicable billing provider, store rules if applicable, and our refund policy.
The MVP mobile app does not sell in-app purchases, subscriptions, or digital upgrades inside the app. If Roots later offers mobile in-app digital purchases, those purchases may be subject to Apple App Store, Google Play, or other app-store billing terms.
7. Account Deletion
You may delete your account in the app or contact support for deletion help. Account deletion is permanent and may remove homes, documents, tasks, preferences, and related account data, subject to limited retention required for legal, security, billing, or dispute-resolution purposes.
8. Prohibited Uses
You agree not to:
- Use the Service for any unlawful purpose
- Upload malicious content or attempt to compromise the Service
- Share your account credentials with others
- Attempt to reverse engineer or copy the Service
9. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Roots shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Service.
10. Changes to Terms
We may update these terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by email or through the Service. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
